Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced a wave of infrastructure developments set to transform Barbuda following the opening of the new international airport. <\/p>

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Browne revealed that his government had secured $35 million in funding from the Caribbean Development Bank to build out the island\u2019s road infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are not only promising development, we have already secured the funding,\u201d Browne stated. The Prime Minister also highlighted that other major projects were in the works, including the development of a new seaport facility and additional luxury resorts.<\/p>

Browne expressed confidence that these initiatives would create hundreds of jobs for Barbudans and significantly boost the island\u2019s economy, marking the airport as the first step in a long-term transformation plan.<\/p>

At the official opening of the Barbuda International Airport, Browne shared his ambitious plans to transform the island into a premier luxury destination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Browne stressed the importance of positioning Barbuda as a high-end tourism hub, highlighting that the island’s pristine beaches and exclusive resorts could attract premium visitors.<\/p>

\u201cWe do not want Barbuda to be overrun by mass tourism. Our focus is on creating a sustainable luxury destination,\u201d Browne said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He revealed that several high-end resort projects are already in the pipeline, including the construction of a Rosewood Hotel and a Silver Sands resort.<\/p>
