Attorney General Hon. Sir Steadroy Benjamin will soon bring to Parliament legislation for the publication of notices as it relates to the removal of derelict houses and properties in St John\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cabinet has proposed a period of 60 days after the publication of said notices without any response by owners would lead to an Amenities Order for the Central Board of Health to demolish derelict buildings and remove unwanted <\/a>overgrown vegetation.<\/p>

The cost of demolition and owed property taxes will be charged to the owner. If owner\u2019s debt is over 50% of the value of the property, a forced sale is imminent to recover the debt owed to the government of Antigua & Barbuda.<\/p>
