Antigua Today<\/em>, a recent entry into the arena of online publications, is being described as a \u201clie factory\u201d by the Chairman of the United Progressive Party (UPP), D.Gisele Isaac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isaac notes that Antigua Today<\/em> has been publishing a series of fabrications designed to smear and defame her and other members of the Party.<\/p>

These political tropes have claimed, among other lies, that the Party holds \u201cmanagement meetings\u201d on Sundays, and they purport to report on the conduct and outcomes of these events, with the objective of painting a picture of \u201cchaos.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe UPP does not<\/em> have any such meetings on any<\/em> day of the week,\u201d Isaac states categorically. \u201cTherefore the alleged reports are completely fictional and malicious.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Party Members and supporters are well aware that meetings are held by the Leadership Group, the Central Executive, and the General Council on a known schedule \u2013 apart from those called by individual Branches or Units, Isaac says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, allegations are that the ownership and operation of Antigua Today<\/em> reside with staff members in the Office of the Prime Minister.<\/p>

\u2018If these persons can substantiate their claims about these fictional meetings, we dare them not only to provide the evidence,<\/strong> but to identify themselves as the operators of this publication,\u201d Isaac says.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

While the Party is well acquainted with the dirty tricks of the governing Antigua Labour Party (ALP), the Chairman adds, the stories coming out of the publication are not only defamatory but are an indictment on the public servants allegedly being used to carry out the ALP\u2019s nasty schemes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, she says, Antigua Today<\/em> has taken Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s journalism to a new low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attorneys for the Party have been consulted on this matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
