“I had a lengthy discussion with Brother Arif this morning, and I\u2019m confident that his decision is more personal than political. I\u2019ve assured him that he has our full support during this challenging time,” Pringle said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While acknowledging public concern over the resignation, Pringle explained that such situations are not new to the UPP.<\/p>

Reflecting on the party’s history, he pointed out that previous leaders had also seen members leave, but the party was able to recover each time. “Under former political leader Baldwin Spencer, we experienced resignations from key members like Chad Green and Melord Nicholas, yet the UPP has always rebounded and thrived,” he noted.<\/p>

Pringle went on to highlight that, despite the resignations, the UPP has been experiencing growth, adding that since January, the party has welcomed 160 new members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“These are not numbers people talk about, but the truth is, the party is stronger than ever, and we continue to move forward,” he said. Pringle also announced that the UPP is preparing to reveal a slate of new candidates soon, stating that these individuals would bring “credibility” and “a new outlook” to the organization.<\/p>

Pringle downplayed concerns that the recent resignations could weaken the party, instead focusing on the UPP\u2019s mission to bring change to Antigua and Barbuda. He called on members to stay united and remain focused on the real issues facing the country, particularly the challenges posed by the current administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Whether it\u2019s me or someone else leading the UPP, we still have the same issues to confront. We must work together because it’s clear that the greatest threat to Antigua and Barbuda right now is the Gaston Browne administration,” he said.<\/p>

As the UPP looks ahead, Pringle encouraged members and supporters to stay focused on the upcoming month of October, teasing important developments and activities planned for what he called “UPP month.” He reassured the public that the party remains committed to its vision and ready to take on future challenges with strength and unity.<\/p>

Despite facing criticism, Pringle underscored the strength of the UPP, stating that the party has consistently proven its ability to withstand challenges over the years. He reminded the public that even after past resignations, the UPP continued to grow and govern Antigua and Barbuda, achieving significant milestones in the country\u2019s development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“People leave for different reasons, but what stands out is that we always come back stronger. The UPP is a resilient organization, and I am confident we will continue to thrive as we prepare for the next election,” Pringle affirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With elections on the horizon, Pringle is focused on putting the UPP in the best possible position to win. “At the end of the day, it\u2019s not about Pringle; it\u2019s about what\u2019s best for the party and the people of Antigua and Barbuda,” he concluded.<\/p>\n
