Nearly two years after the tragic accident that claimed the life of an American University of Antigua (AUA) student, the case against Karim Edwards is still ongoing in court.<\/p>

On October 23, 2022, Edwards allegedly struck two AUA students crossing Friars Hill Road, leading to severe consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A ruling on the no case submission, initially expected on September 11, has been rescheduled to September 19, allowing the Magistrate and defence counsel additional time to assess the prosecution\u2019s response.<\/p>

The accident proved fatal for 21-year-old Kenneth Mathew, who sustained critical brain injuries and passed away just over a week later.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mathew\u2019s companion, 19-year-old Priyanjana Das, survived but suffered life-changing injuries, including the loss of her right arm, fractures to her left arm, and pelvic damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edwards, an accountant in his late 40s, originally faced charges of dangerous driving, which were later upgraded to causing death by dangerous driving after Mathew\u2019s death.<\/p>
