The Barbuda Council has initiated legal proceedings against the government over the ongoing land adjudication process on the island. Barbuda MP Trevor Walker, leading a Council delegation, met with the Cabinet to discuss several pressing issues, including the creation of a joint consultative committee for both islands and concerns about crime and infrastructure.<\/p>

A key topic was the land adjudication process, overseen by Deputy Governor General Sir Clare Roberts, which aims to clarify land ownership and boundaries. Originally set for May 2024, the process is vital for establishing accurate land records on Barbuda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MP Walker also announced the Council\u2019s intent to take legal action against PLH developers, accusing them of blocking access to Palmetto Point. The traditional access road, used by residents for years, has been closed by PLH, a move Walker described as unacceptable.<\/p>
