The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) took center stage in the West Indian American Labor Day parade in Brooklyn, NY. Under the leadership of the ABTA USA Director of Tourism, Dean Fenton, in collaboration with WPIX 11 (PIX11), Antigua and Barbuda were official event sponsors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director Fenton did a live on-air interview and used the opportunity to promote Antigua and Barbuda’s carnival, sharing, \u201cThe parade\u2019s artistic and historical significance is undeniable, with exceptional costumes. Most importantly, the parade showcases participants’ pride in their country, heritage, and culture.\u201d <\/p>

He continued, \u201cThis event has its roots in more traditionally timed, pre-Lent Carnival celebrations, while the carnival that we stage in Antigua and Barbuda celebrates emancipation from slavery, and we invite all your viewers to it.\u201d<\/p>

The New York 2024 parade kicked off Monday, September 2, with thousands of revelers dancing and marching along Brooklyn’s Eastern Parkway in one of the world\u2019s largest celebrations of Caribbean culture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now in its 57th year, the annual Labor Day event turns the borough\u2019s Eastern Parkway into a kaleidoscope of feather-covered costumes and colorful flags as participants make their way down the thoroughfare alongside floats stacked high with speakers playing Soca and Reggae music.<\/p>

PIX11\u2019s main studios are located in the Daily News Building in Midtown Manhattan. This iconic building has been the home of PIX11 for many years and is centrally located in the heart of New York City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the parade, the ABTA branding was included on the PIX11 float and stage.<\/p>

Two Antigua and Barbuda models dressed in Carnival costumes were on the PIX 11 float. Swag branded with the ABTA logo was distributed to revelers, and Antigua and Barbuda destination advertising was displayed during the commercial breaks of the broadcast, further strengthening the destination’s promotional and advertising exposure.\u00a0<\/p>
