The Public Relations and Marketing team for the National\nCoordinating Committee for the Antigua and Barbuda Referendum has launched a\nGet Out and Vote campaign. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

With support from the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral\nCommission, the committee will be using the campaign as yet another phase in\nits efforts to get voters actively engaged in the country\u2019s first referendum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On November 6, Antiguans and Barbudans will go to the polls\nin the country\u2019s 17 constituencies to vote on whether or not to sever ties with\nthe Judicial Committee of the Privy Council (JCPC) and accede to the Caribbean\nCourt of Justice as the country\u2019s final court of appeal. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThrough our engagements at the community level and\neducational consultations with government and private sector, significant\nground has been covered in providing members of the public with the facts about\nthe options that will appear on the ballot paper,\u201d noted Head of the PR Team\nAndy Liburd.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA lot more is left to be done, but it would be an\nincomplete exercise if persons do not take advantage of an opportunity to have\na say in this historic vote,\u201d Liburd noted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A number of well known media personalities and influential\nfigures have already joined the campaign. They include DJ Jime, Steve \u2018Ibis\u2019\nFreeland, Joseph \u2018Jo Jo\u2019 Apparicio, the members of the Team Antigua Island\nGirls, Daren Matthew Ward, James \u2018Sly J\u2019 Simon, Dennis \u2018Menace\u2019 Roberts and Sir\nRichard \u2018Richie\u2019 Richardson. <\/p>

Others are expected to enlist as the committee is seeking to\ntarget a wide demographic in its effort to get voters to fully participate in\nthe process. Radio, Television and the Committee\u2019s social media platforms will\nbe utilized in this latest outreach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public Relations Officer of the Antigua and Barbuda\nElectoral Commission Elisa Graham stated the commission is extremely pleased to\npartner with the NCC in such a noble and worthwhile endeavor. <\/p>

Meantime, the committee\u2019s Information Train heads to the\nPigotts and Cassada Gardens communities this Saturday. <\/p>

The activity is proving effective in getting information\nabout the CCJ and the JCPC to those persons who may not fully grasp the concept\nof our court system, its operations and what is required of them on Referendum\nDay. <\/p>\n
