Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s top CESEC student for 2018 has been named \u201cMost\nOutstanding Overall\u201d (Region) by the Caribbean Examinations Council.<\/p>

In a letter to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, CXC\u2019s\nRegistrar and CEO, Glenroy Cumberbatch wrote that Keondre Herbert of St.\nJoseph\u2019s Academy \u201cwill receive an award for outstanding performance in the\nMay\/June performance in the May\/June, 2018 Caribbean Secondary Education\nCertificate (CSEC) examinations\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Herbert secured 20 passes, all grade ones in the subjects he sat earlier\nthis year.<\/p>

Commenting on the former SJA student\u2019s latest achievement, Director of\nEducation, Clare Browne offered congratulations to Keondre Herbert and his\nfamily for accomplishing such a major feat.<\/p>

\u201cIt speaks to his dedication and the desire to attain academic excellence\nand so I wish to express heartiest congratulations to Mr. Herbert. The Ministry\nof Education, Science and Technology wishes him the very best as he continues\nto climb the academic ladder.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keondre Herbert will receive his award from CXC at a ceremony to be held\nin Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Thursday, 6th<\/sup> December, 2018.<\/p>

This is the second time in three years that Antigua and Barbuda has\nproduced the top CSEC student within the CXC territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2015, former SJA student Brandon Judnarine received the top regional\naward from CXC, for gaining 21 Grade One Passes and one Grade Two at the\nMay\/June exams.<\/p>
