POLICE CALL FOR SOBER BEHAVIOR FOR REMAINDER OF CARNIVAL<\/p>

The Police Administration is calling upon the general public to conduct themselves soberly and responsibly for the remainder of the carnival season. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The appeal comes as several fights broke out among revellers armed with weapons, during Monday\u2019s J\u2019ouvert Morning Street Jam in St. Johns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This resulted in the police taking a decision to bring an early end to the J\u2019ouvert celebrations after careful assessment and consideration for the safety and security of thousands of revellers on the streets in the city. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The crowds were asked to disperse to prevent a further breach of the peace, and this was done without any further incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two persons were taken to the hospital with stab wounds, following a fight on Redcliffe Street. They are said to be in stable condition and their injuries are not life-threatening.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the police continue to appeal for a safe end to Carnival 2024. Members of the public are warned from carrying around sharp or blunt objects, such as knives, scissors, pieces of wood, or iron on their person. <\/p>

Anyone found with these items will be arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the police are once again appealing to street vendors and bar owners to cooperate with authorities and desist from selling drinks in glass bottles and cans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Failure to comply will result in your removal from the streets and revocation of liquor licenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
