Jonathan Wehner, an executive member of the United Progressive Party (UPP), addressed the recent resignation of four youth executive members from the party’s youth arm. <\/p>

Wehner, who is 22 years old and a former chair of the Progressive Youth, emphasized that the details surrounding the resignations are still under review and that party leadership is scheduled to meet with the departing members to discuss their concerns.<\/p>

Wehner challenged rumors suggesting that the UPP does not value or support its young members. Drawing from his own experiences, he asserted that such claims are unfounded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“From my perspective, the UPP has demonstrated significant respect for its youth,” Wehner said. <\/p>

He highlighted his own role as a representative of the party’s policies on Observer Radio and pointed to several young members who have risen to prominent positions within the party, including former MP Anthony Smith and current high-ranking officials Kelvin Shugy Simon and Honorable Jamal Pringle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reassured the public that the resignations do not signify a broader crisis within the party.<\/p>
