Member of Parliament for St. John\u2019s Rural South Hon. Daryll Matthew is playing his part in the fight against crime in his constituency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This as MP Matthew has handed over to the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda a Police Outpost which is located in Nut Grove.<\/p>

The new Police Outpost aims to reduce the response time of the Police while maintaining a police presence in the densely populated area.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

According to an article in the Antigua Observer of October 3, 2023, residents of Nut Grove and surrounding areas recommended \u201csetting-up a police outpost closer to the community\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recommendation came at a townhall meeting organized by MP Matthew with residents to discuss the crime situation in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The outpost has been placed on a plot of land once occupied by what was described as a criminal \u201csafehouse\u201d, a half-constructed building notorious for sheltering criminals. The building was demolished after residents described it as \u201ca hotspot for illegal activity\u201d.<\/p>

Before this new Police Outpost, residents of Nut Grove and surrounding communities would have to seek assistance from either the Grays Farm or the St. John\u2019s Police Station.<\/p>
