St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda<\/strong> \u2013 The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service has issued a tropical cyclone information statement alerting residents of the Leeward Islands and the British Virgin Islands about a tropical disturbance expected to impact the region.<\/p>

Weather Overview<\/strong>
The tropical disturbance, was located approximately 720 miles east of the Leeward Islands. Moving west-northwest at a speed of around 12 mph, the system is projected to pass near or over the islands by Wednesday. <\/p>

Although the disturbance has the potential to strengthen, it is not expected to develop into a tropical storm or hurricane before reaching the northeast Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expected Impacts<\/strong>
The primary concern for residents is heavy rainfall, forecasted for Wednesday and extending into parts of Thursday. <\/p>

Accumulations are expected to be minimal, ranging from 25 to 50 mm (1 to 2 inches), but there could still be minor flooding in some areas. Despite the risk of heavy rains, the overall threat level from wind and sea conditions remains low, and no significant hazards are anticipated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recommendations for Residents<\/strong>
Forecaster Dale Destin emphasized that there are currently no alerts, watches, or warnings in effect. <\/p>
