Parliamentarians are failing their constituencies in spite of being paid. All elected persons have a responsibility to make sure their constituencies are run efficiently and the government owned entities located within their constituency boundaries are properly managed. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Some of the government buildings all over the island have succumbed to mould and as a consequence, their public servants have been working half-day for over one year, though fully paid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where are the Constituency representatives who are paid working salaries? Their role is to harass the responsible Ministries and their appointed Ministers to get the job done.<\/p>

Elected Representatives, especially those who form the King\u2019s Loyal Opposition in the House, are spending too much time on politics and little time on \u2018Government.\u2019 The hands-off attitude of the Executive towards the Opposition members fails to respect the people of the constituency who voted them into government, though alternative.\u00a0<\/p>

The Representative is not just responsible for the people of the area under his mandate, but also the environs, the government\u2019s assets and the servants of the persons responsible for upkeep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is what Parliamentarians are expected to do as they earn their keep.<\/a><\/p>
