Four bright Antiguan minds have achieved a remarkable milestone, graduating as doctors from the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) in Cuba. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 12th, Dr. Neejah Crump, Dr. Sadik Spencer, Dr. Alex Kelsick, and Dr. Michelle Jeffrey, the valedictorian of their class, celebrated the culmination of seven years of rigorous study and training.<\/p>

Their journey began with a shared commitment to healthcare and community service, a mission that led them to one of the world’s most renowned medical schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ELAM, known for its comprehensive curriculum and focus on social medicine, training doctors from the four corners of the globe. <\/p>

This institution provided these dedicated students with an education rooted in the principles of primary healthcare and community-oriented medical practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Michelle Jeffrey, the valedictorian, exemplified academic excellence and leadership throughout her time at ELAM. Her dedication and hard work earned her the top spot in her class, a testament to her commitment to becoming a physician capable of making a significant impact on her community.<\/p>

Whenever you face challenges, remember everything you have learned here, remember that you are capable of much more than you think. Now, as they return to Antigua, these new doctors are eager to apply their knowledge and skills to benefit their homeland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their education in Cuba has prepared them not only as competent medical professionals but also as advocates for accessible and equitable healthcare. Their return is timely, as Antigua continues to strive for improvements in its healthcare system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The success of these four graduates is a source of immense pride for Antigua. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their achievements reflect the support and encouragement of their families, communities, and the opportunities provided by international educational collaborations between the governments of Antigua & Barbuda and The Republic of Cuba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In attendance for the graduation exercises was Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s Ambassador to Cuba, George \u2018Junie\u2019 Goodwin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
