CARIBBEAN JOURNAL<\/strong>– Antigua and Barbuda tourism is projecting a \u201crecord year\u201d in tourist arrivals, buoyed by the recent Antigua and Barbuda Showcase event.\u00a0<\/p>

Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s big travel trade event was a big \u201csuccess,\u201d according to the Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association, which put on the annual event this past week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dedicated travel trade event helped boost business from the destination\u2019s primary source markets, including the US, Canada, UK, Europe and the Caribbean. <\/p>

More than 40 travel partners engaged in appointments with local suppliers in an event held at the Royalton Antigua resort. <\/p>

That came alongside familiarization trips, site visits and a sunset cocktail at the legendary Sheer Rocks Antigua restaurant, long considered one of the top 10 restaurants in the Caribbean. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe 9th edition of Showcase Antigua Barbuda has been a remarkable event for collaboration and cementing business opportunities for all our travel partners. This positions the destination to fully capitalize on the increase in airlift from all source markets for the upcoming winter season,\u201d said Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda. \u201cAs a result, barring any unforeseen circumstances, Antigua and Barbuda should see a record year in visitor arrivals.\u201d<\/p>
