I recently saw the Prime Minister post a picture of Robin Yearwood, and we have all heard the rumors about his health. I am happy to see that he is doing better, but I couldn’t help but notice all the well-wishers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are everyday working-class folks who rely on the local hospital. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I know I cannot be the only one who has noticed that these ministers and political parties do not seem to care about the hospital or its workers. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

They can afford to fly to first-world countries for treatment, so what happens at Sir Lester Medical Center does not affect them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But for us, the poor people, it is a different story. We go to the hospital daily and blame the nurses and doctors, but I think the nurses bear the brunt of it.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The public likes to blame the very people who are trying their best with limited resources to save lives\u2014the same nurses who are underpaid and overworked because they are leaving in droves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also a shortage of equipment and supplies at the hospital. Who should we blame for that? <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our hospital is in shambles, and the nurses and doctors are not the main problem.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The real issue lies with the politicians we elect to manage our affairs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hospital, where poor people have no choice but to seek care, is deteriorating, and nothing is being done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the next five years, there will be no experienced nurses left to train the younger ones, and some of you will only understand what I am saying when you or a loved one falls ill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I say this with tears in my eyes: Mr. Joseph, you need to address what is happening at the hospital. Nurses are leaving at an alarming rate, and you cannot keep bringing in Spanish-speaking nurses when 90% of the population speaks English. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please, sir, the hospital is declining. Do something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
