Webson emphasized<\/a><\/strong> that the Moroccan autonomy plan \u201ccomplies with international law, the United Nations Charter and the resolutions of the UN Security Council and General Assembly.\u201d<\/p>

The statement comes amidst renewed efforts by the UN to restart roundtable talks involving Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania, and the Polisario Front. Webson expressed Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s support for this political process led by the UN Secretary-General.<\/p>

The Caribbean diplomat also welcomed the participation of representatives from the Western Sahara in UN discussions, hailing the \u201cdynamic socio-economic development underway\u201d in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Webson urged all parties to remain committed to the ceasefire and cooperate with the UN peacekeeping mission, MINURSO. He called on parties who have obstructed MINURSO\u2019s freedom of movement to cease such actions, emphasizing the importance of regional security and stability.<\/p>

Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s support for the Moroccan autonomy<\/strong> plan adds to a growing chorus of international backing for the proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
