Source-Real News Antigua:<\/strong> A cutlass-wielding attack on the weekend has landed two men in the hospital,<\/p>

Reports say that a constable telephoned the Grays Farm Police Station and<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

informed officers that a wounded man was at the hospital, and had been<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

chopped by another man at about 6 a.m. on May 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to further reports, a 32-year-old Hatton man had been attacked<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

from behind with a cutlass \u2013 by a man he recognized but does not know \u2013 and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

chopped repeatedly with the weapon.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, the Hatton man managed to fend off some of the chops<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

directed at his head; but when he raised his arms to defend himself, he was<\/p>\n\n\n\n

wounded in the palm of his hand and to his face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victim reportedly sustained chop wounds to his forehead, right and left<\/p>\n\n\n\n

hands, and the left side of his face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hospital doctors say the patient\u2019s hands had to be X-rayed, and he will require<\/p>\n\n\n\n

surgery to repair the tendons in both, but he is in a stable condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the other man who was involved in the cutlass attack \u2013 a 29-year-<\/p>\n\n\n\n

old man from Union Road, Hatton \u2013 sustained more severe injuries, but was<\/p>\n\n\n\n

unable to say how they had been caused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, doctors say the man suffered a fractured skull, a fractured wrist,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and a partially amputated left index finger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He had to be placed on a ventilator and remains in a critical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the Police visited the hospital, both men were in the Emergency Room,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

next to each other, with a curtain separating them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident is said to have taken place on the Donovans main road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apparently, a search was carried out at the scene for any objects or evidence<\/p>\n\n\n\n

linked to the investigation, but none was found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
