The authorities in Columbia have offered a reward for information concerning the whereabouts of Johnathan Phillips, a flight officer with regional<\/g> carrier, LIAT, who went missing while vacationing in Colombia.<\/p>

The police in Colombia say Phillips was vacationing with his aunt when they both disappeared while bathing in the Melcocho River, in the rural area of the municipality of Cocorn\u00e1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The body of his aunt Carol Lewis was recovered but Johnathan is still missing.<\/p>

On Wednesday,officials in Colombia called of the search .<\/p>

The Antigua Observer on Sunday,\u00a0\u00a0quoted a family member as saying that the Colombian government has issued an unknown amount as reward for anyone who divulges information that could lead to the recovery of Phillips\u2019 body or his whereabouts if he is still alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThrough the [U.S.] Embassy we were told that the Colombian government issued a local reward in the finding of Jonathan\u2019s body. That was the communication we got. The reward wasn\u2019t done through the U.S., it was done locally through Colombia,\u201d Luke said.<\/p>

\u201cI don\u2019t know who the Antiguan authority is communicating with but as a citizen of Antigua, the Antigua government should insist to Columbia that they need word and to not just sit and wait on Colombia to make the call to Antigua,\u201d Luke said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey should be on their tail because he was there and he is still there. They need to find him, he is still there, he didn\u2019t just vanish and from what we know it is like little rivers going into different constituencies and if they put enough manpower out Jonathan can be found,\u201d Luke told the Observer.\u00a0<\/p>
