According to reports, a 27-year-old man has been remanded to His Majesty\u2019s
Prison for sexually assaulting an underaged girl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Police had arrested and charged the man with one count of unlawful
sexual intercourse and one count of serious indecency. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

These acts are alleged to have been committed on April 5 this year. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

However, it is further alleged
that the accused has similar charges pending in the High Court.
\u00a0
During his first court appearance for this most recent offence, he was refused
bail, and the magistrate ordered that he be remanded because of his prior
offences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His committal proceedings are set for September 3.<\/p>

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man was also placed on remand at His Majesty\u2019s
Prison on charges of sexually violating a 14-year-old girl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Police charged the man with three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse,
alleged to have taken place between May 6 and 11 at a location on the western
side of the island.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Apparently, the alleged perpetrator\u2019s proximity to the victim, as well as her
safety, was a factor in the court\u2019s decision to deny bail, and the magistrate
ordered that the man be remanded.<\/p>

Committal proceedings are set for September 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
