Minister Fernandez made special mention of the Youth to Keel participants who will be racing this week: \u201cTo the approximate 48 youths who will get the chance to join seasoned sailors onboard their vessels, make every positive use of the opportunity. As the future of this industry is yours and congratulations to the Antigua National Sailing Academy for helping to pave the way.\u201d<\/p>

\u201cWe do not have to look further than our own Junella King, you have made everyone in the sailing community and throughout Antigua and Barbuda, including myself proud.\u201d<\/p>

King is a graduate of the Youth to Keel programme and a member of the first all-female crew of Maiden Factor, who won the around the world yacht race \u2018Macintyre Ocean Globe\u2019 race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peters & May Round Antigua race was won by Dawn Treader, whilst the three day Wingfoil Championship was won by Idani Edward of Antigua and Barbuda, who set a new long distance record of 29 minutes.<\/p>

Visitors, and crews enjoyed a cultural presentation by the Original Steel Orchestra and cultural dancers on the Antigua Yacht Club lawn. They also had an opportunity to shop and discover locally made items in the Artisan Market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
