CMC- Pesident of the Barbados-based Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), Dr Hyginus \u2018Gene\u2019 Leon, has resigned with \u201cimmediate effect\u201d from the regional financial institution.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

According to a three page letter sent to the Bank by his St Lucia-based lawyers, Leon is of the opinion that \u201che will never be treated fairly\u201d after he had been sent on administrative leave in January.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is also evident that the Bank has lost all trust and confidence in our client by the failure of the Board of Governors to prevent the continued violations of its Charter, policies, rules and regulations with regard to its elected President.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cOur client has therefore made the extremely difficult decision to resign his elected position of the President of the Bank with immediate effect\u201d.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The lawyers \u00a0have given the regional financial institution until May 4 \u201cto negotiate unamicable separation\u201d indicating also that their correspondence should be viewed \u201cas our client\u2019s pre action protocol letter\u201d regarding the entire situation.<\/p>\n

In the three-page letter,\u00a0 Dated April 21, and headlined \u201cRe. Dr Hygenius \u201cGene\u201dLleon, Resignation and Constructive Dismissal, a copy of which has been obtained by the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC), Leon\u2019s St Lucia-based lawyers said they would be moving to the courts in Barbados \u201cor any other jurisdiction more appropriate, to enforce our client\u2019s legal and constitutional rights\u201d.<\/p>
