Prime Minister Gaston Browne of Antigua and Barbuda has outlined a strategic focus on infrastructure development, particularly highlighting plans to prioritize roads and water supply projects over the next year.<\/p>\n

Central to this strategy is the employment of 40 new individuals at Public Works, aimed at bolstering road maintenance efforts and ensuring the efficient operation of key infrastructure projects.<\/p>

Prime Minister Browne emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “We are planning to employ 40 additional persons at Public Works because we want to have a night crew that can help with the patching of these roads.”<\/p>

He noted the challenges posed by ongoing major road reconstruction activities, leading to delays in regular patching and maintenance. The employment of additional personnel is intended to address these challenges and improve the overall condition of roads across the country.<\/p>\n

In addition to workforce expansion, Prime Minister Browne highlighted specific road projects that are already underway. He mentioned, “Richard’s Road has been prepped now to be paved, and we see that they have prepped B Street as well to be paved.”<\/p>

Regarding water supply projects, Prime Minister Browne mentioned ongoing contracts with multiple firms to increase water capacity.
