Businessman Rey John is threatening to sue Acting Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney if he does not make good for the recent airport fiasco.<\/p>

Lawyers for\nJohn wrote to the acting top cop demanding a written apology and cost for the\ndamage he suffered while he attempted to lawfully leave Antigua recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 1, the businessman was stopped at the airport by a police officer even though he had permission to travel. He was eventually allowed to leave.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

John has a gun\nmatter in the court and is on bail but the police officer claimed not to have\nknown that he was given special permission.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Rodney has 14 days starting September 3rd<\/sup>\nto respond to the letter or face legal action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to\nlawyers to John, \u201cthe actions of [Sergeant] Bowen (who claimed that you\nauthorised such actions) are clearly a breach of our client\u2019s constitutional\nrights to freely move in and out of Antigua.<\/p>

The detention (however brief)\nwas unlawful and tantamount to false imprisonment,\u201d the attorney wrote<\/p>\n\n\n\n
