Reggae in the Park is back for its 13th edition at a brand-new location, Dow’s Hill Interpretation Center, in English Harbour, Antigua.<\/p>

On the night of April 30, legendary Jamaican artist, Sanchez, will be the headline act. A singer and producer of such hits a: \u2018Never Dis Di Man<\/a>, and \u2018One in a Million\u2019<\/a>\u00a0who rose to major fame in the reggae scenes of London and the Caribbean in the 90\u2019s. He is joined by DJ\u2019s and local supporting acts, to include favourites 1761\u00ba, Kenne Blessin and more.<\/p>\n

Reggae in the Park is one of Antigua Sailing Week’s (ASW) most anticipated events, so called, because it takes place within boundary of Nelson’ s Dockyard National Park (which encompasses 16 square miles of natural and historical sites) and very importantly where there is a view of the ocean and harbours.\u00a0 The event has unfolded in many successful venues over the years, from the very first edition in 2010 at Shirley Heights Lookout, to last years at Nelsons Dockyard. With breath-taking views of historic English Harbour the new venue will provide a completely different outlook and ensure that partygoers get to experience yet another amazing venue within the UNESCO World Heritage Site designated National Park.<\/p>\n

Rana Lewis, ASW Event Manager explains what Reggae in the Park means to ASW \u201cReggae in the Park fulfils the Celebrate <\/em>aspect of the events strapline – Race, Chase, Celebrate.<\/em> The always buzzed about show brings together residents of the island, sailors, friends & family of sailors, holidaymakers for one fantastic night. It is a cultural celebration of music and food that gives us a chance to showcase the best of our very diverse culture to our guests. I mean who doesn\u2019t like a celebration!\u201d<\/p>

The event runs from 5pm to 12am so patrons are encouraged to arrive early and in time to experience the magnificent sunset, stunning harbour views and sample the culinary offering before showtime at 6pm.<\/p>\n

Antigua Sailing Week, one of the longest running Caribbean’s\u00a0regattas,\u00a0is held annually at the end of April and the 55th edition takes place\u00a0with the Peters & May Round Antigua Race on\u00a0Saturday, April 27, and five days of competitive racing off the rugged south coast of Antigua, wrapping up on Friday, May 3, 2024.\u00a0\u00a0Antigua Sailing Week is also known for its spectator opportunities and vibrant social scene.\u00a0 Each night of the regatta features a variety of events, including parties, concerts, and dinners.<\/p>
