Members of the Lions Club of Antigua presented two airline tickets to Ms. Keri Charles who will undergo surgery in Jamaica on Monday 10th<\/sup> September to remove kidney stones.\u00a0 Ms. Charles will be accompanied by her sister Ms. Aurlene Lake.<\/p>

When the Lions Club was contacted\nabout Keri\u2019s situation the Health, Civic and Social Improvement Committee\nChairperson Lion Virgil Daniel MJF and Lion Gladston Joseph MJF immediately visited\nher to investigate the situation.\u00a0 The\nLions were told that she has been suffering with her sickness for a few years\nand most times is unable to work; she is presently on a lengthy sick leave and\nhas missed two previous appointments because she could not afford the cost of\nthe tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A couple of hours after the\ninvestigation concluded Ms. Charles received a telephone call from the Lions\nClub informing her that they will donate the two tickets to Jamaica.<\/p>

During the presentation, an overly\nexcited Ms. Charles expressed her profound gratitude for the timely assistance\nthe Club has offered.\u00a0 She thanked the\nClub\u2019s president Lion Davidson Charles and all the members and said that\nsomeday she too will like to become a Lion club member, so that she can assist\nother less fortunate people.\u00a0 Lion Virgil\nDaniel MJF on behalf of the president and members of the Lions Club wished Ms.\nKeri Charles safe travels, a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.<\/p>
