Prime Minister Gaston Browne Celebrates 25 Years of Public Service<\/strong><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The Office of the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda is celebrating Prime Minister Gaston Browne’s 25 years of public service as an elected member of the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Browne, who was first elected on March 9, 1999, representing the St. John’s City West Constituency, has been successful in five consecutive elections.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

He is also the only Prime Minister in the country’s history to have won three consecutive elections.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Prime Minister Browne recently secured his third term in office on January 18 2023, during Antigua and Barbuda’s general election.<\/p>\n

He is the leader of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP), a position he has held since 2014.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

During his tenure, Prime Minister Browne has overseen significant developments and faced challenges, including the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma, the establishment of the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus, and the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Gaston Browne was born in Potters on 9 February 1967 and was raised in the poverty-stricken communities of Point and Grays.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

After completing his secondary education, Browne left Antigua for the United Kingdom, where he completed degree programs in Banking and Finance.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Before entering politics full-time, Browne worked in the banking sector for several years and rose to become a senior bank manager.<\/p>\n

In the 1999 General Election, Browne entered the political arena and was elected as the Member of Parliament for the constituency of St John’s City West.<\/p>\n

Browne\u2019s first ministerial appointment was as the Minister of Planning, Trade, Industry, Commerce, and Public Service Affairs in then Prime Minister Lester Bird\u2019s cabinet.<\/p>\n

In April 2021, Browne added the profession of farmer to his long list of accolades when he started Farmer DG Browne Company Limited with his two adult sons.<\/p>\n

The farm produces livestock, fresh seasoning, ground provision, and coconuts.<\/p>\n

His contributions have made a difference in the lives of many, and he continues to lead the country with vision and purpose.<\/p>\n
