He recounts being unexpectedly asked to address the opening of the renovated Bolans Police Station on Thursday, February 29, as the representative for St. Mary\u2019s South.<\/p>\n

Despite not being prepared, Simon delivered the address, emphasizing his commitment to speaking on behalf of his constituents, who have elected him twice in less than a year.<\/p>

Simon expressed surprise when Antigua Labour Party Senator Dwayne George, whom he defeated in last October\u2019s by-election, was also invited to speak, seemingly with prior notice and a prepared speech.<\/p>

Simon views this as a double standard, feeling that George received greater courtesy with advance notice, while his invitation appeared to be an afterthought.<\/p>\n

As a two-time elected representative, Simon insists that such disrespect is unacceptable.<\/p>

He urges the Browne Administration to treat Opposition MPs with the respect befitting their elected positions, rather than favoring appointed senators.<\/p>\n

Simon also raised concerns about the readiness of the new police station, noting the absence of equipment or furniture, which suggests that officers may not be able to operate from the building immediately.<\/p>
