Workers at the Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank (ECAB) are
\nreportedly at odds with management over salaries.<\/p>\n

Reports say that workers walked off the job on Thursday, February
\n22, 2024, while other sources claim the employees never turned up
\nfor work. Instead, they reportedly met with their representatives at
\nthe Antigua & Barbuda Workers\u2019 Union (ABWU).<\/p>

Reportedly, a meeting about the grievances impacting the
\ndisgruntled workers was expected to be organized with the Labour
\nDepartment.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Customers who showed up at the bank\u2019s branches experienced
\nsome difficulty with regard to timely services, as senior
\nmanagement had to hold the fort.<\/p>\n

In a media release, the bank apologized for the delays, saying they
\nwere due to circumstances outside of its control.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The financial institution did not go into any details about the nature
\nof these conditions, however.<\/p>\n

Apparently, this action by the workers did not only impact the bank
\non Thursday. It is expected to continue into Friday, February 23, as
\nthe bank has stated that the delay in in-branch and customer-
\nsupport services will be experienced for two days.<\/p>
