Antigua and Barbuda’s government is eager for the new airport in Barbuda to open soon, as it will accommodate jet aircraft.<\/p>

The opening has been delayed due to outstanding regulatory issues. Prime Minister Gaston Browne stated that final approval from the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) is needed before the airport can open to the public, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.<\/p>\n

Despite the delays, PM Browne hopes the airport will open within weeks, enabling Barbudans to receive jet traffic for the first time.<\/p>
