Health Minister Molwyn Joseph Addresses Air Conditioning Upgrades and Joint Replacement Plans in Pointe FM Interview<\/strong><\/p>

During a recent interview on Pointe FM, Health Minister Molwyn Joseph provided an update on efforts to improve infrastructure and services at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center.<\/p>\n

At the forefront of discussion were plans for upgrading the hospital’s air conditioning system, followed by insights into forthcoming joint replacement procedures.<\/p>

Minister Joseph began by acknowledging the challenges posed by the hospital’s air conditioning system.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

He outlined ongoing efforts to install air conditioning in critical areas, stressing the importance of building redundancy within the system.<\/p>\n

“We have now placed air conditioning in most critical areas of the hospital,” he assured listeners.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

However, he noted that work on the central air conditioning system is still underway, with measures being taken to ensure temporary relief until permanent upgrades are completed.<\/p>\n

In response to persistent issues with the central air conditioning system, Minister Joseph disclosed plans to implement temporary measures.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

“We have already paid for it,” he revealed. “It should arrive here according to the supplier on the 23rd.”<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

This temporary central facility aims to provide interim relief while permanent upgrades to the system are being finalized, ensuring a comfortable environment for patients and staff alike.<\/p>\n

Transitioning to the topic of joint replacements, Minister Joseph expressed confidence in the medical team’s readiness to conduct such procedures.<\/p>\n

“Very much so,” he affirmed, “and I anticipate when we reopen the operation theater with the right environment, we’ll be able to do that.”<\/p>\n

He reassured the public that necessary doctors and supplies are in place, with the operation theater expected to resume operations within approximately three weeks.<\/p>\n
