As Antiguans and Barbudans began migrating to the United States in the late 1800s, many headed to Harlem, taking many elements of their heritage to the \u201ccultural capital of the world.\u201d<\/p>

The Antigua and Barbuda Progressive Society (ABPS), headquartered in Harlem, is the longest surviving organization of Antiguans and Barbudans.<\/p>\n

The association will launch its 90th Anniversary celebrations with a Calypso Valentine\u2019s Brunch <\/strong>that will highlight the vibrant fusion of Caribbean-American food and music that is synonymous with Harlem\u2019s rich cultural melting pot.<\/p>

The event will be held on Saturday February 10th<\/sup> from 12 noon \u2013 4 pm at Antigua House, 12 W 122nd<\/sup> St, NY, NY.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

It will feature a themed menu that pays homage to various communities in Antigua and Barbuda and Harlem.<\/p>\n

Brunch-goers can choose from an exciting buffet that will feature Antiguan and Barbudan, as well as continental cuisine. A tropical bubbly bar will serve mimosas and other signature cocktails.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Dubbed a \u201cCaribbean love affair,\u201d the event will include interactive musical entertainment that will celebrate calypso music as well as door prizes. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under. This will be the first in a series of fundraising events in the countdown to the 90th Anniversary celebrations that will honor the ABPS\u2019 past achievements, highlight current programs, and look ten years ahead to the centennial celebration.<\/p>\n

ABPS was founded in 1934 during the Great Depression by 22 Antiguans, under the leadership of Bishop James P. Roberts.<\/p>
