Hurricane Irma devastated the Caribbean island of Barbuda in 2017. One year later evacuated residents are finally starting to move back.<\/p>

Hurricane Irma damaged or destroyed almost every structure in Barbuda in 2017. The island\u2019s entire population evacuated to neighboring Antigua.<\/p>

The United Nations, private donors and the government of China decided to step in and rebuild the island. As a result, residents have returned.<\/p>
