Following a recent meeting with senior officials from the Chief Immigration Officer and the Airport Authority, it was decided to fully staff all eight immigration booths during peak arrival times, particularly on weekends when up to 1,000 people may arrive within a two-hour period.<\/p>

To streamline the passenger clearance process, immigration officers stressed the importance of replacing handwritten entry cards with electronic systems. Simultaneously, Airport Authority officials emphasized the necessity of additional resources for implementing kiosks and computer programs in the arrivals area.<\/p>\n

Minister of Tourism Charles Fernandez addressed these concerns at an American Society for Travel Advisors (ASTA) conference, outlining plans to have operational kiosks by April, ahead of the SIDS conference scheduled for May.<\/p>
