Lyndon Francis, APUA’s Transmission and Distribution Manager, confirmed that the installation of cables along FHR, connecting to the existing substation, is progressing.<\/p>

This upgrade aims to mitigate storm-related power outages in the area.<\/p>

For safety reasons, the substation servicing the area will be temporarily de-energized, necessitating a redirection of approximately 20% of customers to alternative substations. The goal is to minimize disruptions during this period.<\/p>

The public can expect brief switching intervals, lasting about 15 to 20 minutes on specific days, as the transition unfolds. The upcoming de-energization of the Friars Hill substation marks a critical phase in the project. APUA aims to execute the transition with minimal impact on daily activities. While traffic disruptions will be avoided, brief power interruptions during the switching process are inevitable.<\/p>
