JAMAICA OBSERVER: There will be no Jamaican franchise in next year\u2019s Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 Tournament.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The\u00a0Observer Online\u00a0<\/strong>received confirmation from the CPL that the Tallawahs won\u2019t take part in the 2024 edition after Kris Persaud sold the franchise to the CPL as he could no longer operate the team sustainably.<\/p>\n

Observer Online<\/strong>\u00a0also learnt that Persaud will become the new owner of the returning Antigua franchise which has received the backing of the government of Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>

Persaud was reportedly frustrated with the lack of financial support from the Jamaican government, which resulted in the country not hosting a CPL game in close to five years.<\/p>

Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia and Trinidad & Tobago will be the countries with franchises who will participate in the 2024 edition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
