Another way to raise revenue for the government to lessen taxing locals<\/p>

Antiguans and Barbudans abroad want to vote in local elections, even if they are not living on Island or away for college. These kinds of people should be allowed to vote. Students abroad should be able to vote, as they are simply visiting another country to study. While the other (citizens living abroad) would be allowed to vote in local elections, if they meet one or more of the suggested minimal contacts (to Antigua and Barbuda) requirement listed below:<\/p>\n

  1. They have an existing and functioning business locally (you can put other criteria on this by requiring having certain number of local employees or contributing certain amounts to SS, MBS, education taxes, etcetera),<\/li>\n
  2. Donation amount to the country<\/li>\n
  3. Bank account or bank balance at certain level (for specific periods times, yearly deposits locally)<\/li>\n
  4. Home ownership locally<\/li>\n
  5. Recency and or frequency of visits to Antigua and Barbuda<\/li>\n
  6. actual or potential opportunities the person can create based on how well-positioned they are to advance an endeavor (business or charitable)<\/li>\n
  7. and a joke for my fellow bloggers (how many girlfriends they have locally ha ha ha ha, I would not meet this requirement ha ha ha)<\/li>\n
  8. National importance and substantial merit of person or their endeavors<\/li>\n
  9. etcetera<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    But on a serious note, this is another of my creative ways to bring in additional government revenues and provide means for Antiguans and Barbudans abroad to participate in building they country they love and have a stake in.<\/p>\n
