Prime Minister Gaston Browne says a victory for the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party is assured following the election of Michael Joseph in the December 8, 2023, Rural West Primary vote.<\/p>

Joseph secured a major victory, defeating his closest rival by close to 300 votes, securing 385 of the 623 votes cast. Russell Ellis polled 94 votes, Kevin Morgan 89, Shawn Benjamin 47 and Aziza Lake 7.<\/p>\n

Browne told Pointe FM that he is disappointed in the performance of Lake, a former senator in the upper house.<\/p>

According to the ABLP leader, this emphasizes that if individuals are qualified but lack the common touch they will not be sucessful.<\/p>
