The committee of stakeholders charged with executing the educational campaign for the Caribbean Court of Justice will begin to intensify its activities shortly. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A new and energized group is now sitting before Ambassador Dr. Clarence Henry who is continuing as chair of the committee in an effort to bridge the activities of the previous campaign with this latest exercise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The committee is meeting weekly and the skill sets and resources of its various members will be utilized in getting the message to all interests in Antigua and Barbuda who will be called on to exercise their franchise in the important referendum. The committee is mainly comprised of media professionals, communication specialists, legal practitioners and community based activist. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The vote will take place on Tuesday, 6th November,2018, when electors will decide whether or not Antigua and Barbuda stays with the UK based Privy Council, or joins several CARICOM member-states that have made the Caribbean Court of Justice as their final court of appeal. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In preparation for the vote, the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) has been proactive, reaching out to qualified adults to encourage them to register to vote. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commission has announced that anyone not on the voters’ list by August 31 would not be able to cast their ballots in the referendum. <\/p>

The committee plans to take a multi-level approach in its education program, capturing the interest and concerns of the general public. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stakeholders’ committee will be unswerving in its commitment to ensuring that the public is made fully aware of its activities as soon as they are finalized, which Dr. Henry says, will certainly be in short order.<\/p>
