REAL NEWS: A second major fire has occurred in the Point\/Villa communities in under a week, destroying two homes in the area.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Reports say that some Villa residents recounted hearing what they described as a loud explosion, almost like a bomb, and then seeing fire.<\/p>\n

The Fire Department was called and tenders responded to the scene at about 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Adjacent to the Villa Nazarene Church, firefighters met two houses fully engulfed in flames, and a number of residents and other spectators who had gathered to view the scene after being awakened by the loud noise.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

According to fire officials, the explosion they had heard was from a liquid propane gas (LPG) tank that had exploded in the immense heat.<\/p>\n

It had been attached to one of the burning homes at the time.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

However, the Fire Department says that no one was injured during the early-morning inferno.<\/p>\n

Last Wednesday, November 8, a fire had occurred a short distance away, in the Point community, destroying \u00a0the Ebenezer Primary School or old Point School.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The cause is still under investigation, as there was no electricity attached to the structure, which had been abandoned for years.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

It was, however, frequented by vagrants.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Fire Department was kept busy on Tuesday morning, responding to another fire just over two hours later.<\/p>\n

This blaze, on Tindale Road, also destroyed a property and damaged a nearby business.<\/p>\n

Reports say that, at about 3 a.m., a house was engulfed in flames, and the fire spread to a nearby bakery, charring the structure.<\/p>\n

Fire fighters fought valiantly to save the home; but in spite of their efforts it was completely destroyed, along with all its contents.<\/p>\n

All the fires are now under investigation to determine their cause.<\/p>\n
