CMC-Late-season tropical storms and an upper-level trough over the northern Caribbean have given rise to the wettest October in more than a decade.<\/p>

\"\"<\/div>\n

The Meteorological Office (Met Office) has reported that over the past 48 hours, between two and three inches of rain fell in parts of Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n

The rain gave rise to localized flooding in some parts of Antigua.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/div>\n

The heavy rainfall has been attributed to an upper-level trough that blanked the<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

country for the past several days, leading to heavy rainfall since Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The rains have persisted on and off since then.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

During all this, the Met Office issued a flash flood warning which was lifted at 5:00 pm on Sunday.<\/p>\n

According to the Met Office, there is a 40 percent chance of rain today, Monday, but the forecasters are anticipating that conditions will improve, and sunshine shall return to the area, as the clouds associated with the trough depart the area.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The latest round of showers has brought the total rainfall for October up to Sunday to 11.99 inches of rain.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The forecasters say this has been the wettest October for more than a decade.<\/p>\n

The National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) Sherrod James said there have been reports of localized flooding, but he explained that this has more to do with human action than the actual rain.<\/p>\n
