Former President of Cricket West Indies Indies Ricky Skerritt has been appointed chairman of the board of Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Coolidge Cricket Ground is operated by the government of Antigua and has been heavily used by Cricket West Indies to host training camps for the various West Indies teams.<\/p>\n

It has also hosted regional and international matches. Formerly the Airport Ground, Coolidge was Acquired by the disgraced Allen Stanford who later renamed it after himself.<\/p>

However since he was sentenced for fraud, the ground was taken over by the government.<\/p>

Current CWI boss Dr. Kishore Shallow says the appointment of Skerritt as chairman, augurs well for the continuation and further investment in the potential of the facility.<\/p>\n

Shallow says the former CWI head\u2019s \u201cinstitutional knowledge\u201d would be key to the success of the CCG project.<\/p>

There\u2019re major plans for the ground, infact Antiguan Prime Minister Gaston Browne was this week presented with the CCG master development plan.<\/p>\n
