A social media post by former St. George MP Dean Jonas has been making the rounds and has left some wondering who he might be describing as\u00a0a donkey leader<\/strong> in the post.<\/p>

Some pundits say Jonas s lashing out against the leader of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the post:<\/b>\u00a0A donkey leader is an incompetent and greedy leader who can only command a group of syco[hants and yes-men. This leader is stubborn, selfish, and ignorant of the needs and opinions of others. They care about their own interests and benefits, and they exploit their followers for their own gain. They are unable to inspire, motivate, or empower anyone, and they resort to bullying, cutthroat attacks, threats, lies, and manipulation to maintain their authority. They are the worst kind of leaders and they should be exposed and removed from leadership.<\/em><\/p>

<\/div>\n

In 2020 Jonas \u2014 the then Minister of Agriculture,\u00a0Fisheries and Barbuda Affairs\u00a0\u2014 was fired and removed from the Gaston Browne Cabinet.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Chief of Staff Lionel Max Hurst said at the time that Jonas had also been released as a member of the Cabinet with immediate effect.<\/p>\n

Jonas was fired moments after Prime Minister Gaston Browne met with about 40 workers under Jonas\u2019 ministry at the Agriculture headquarters on independence Avenue. The firing came in the wake of what was termed as a toxic environment between Jonas and his ministry and farmers.<\/p>

Prime Minister Browne said the suspension period was for reflection and contemplation as to how to achieve reconciliation.<\/p>\n

Six months later, Jonas was returned to Cabinet assuming the position of Minister for Social Transformation and the Blue Economy.<\/p>

In the January 2023 elections Algernon \u2018Serpent\u2019 Watts won the constituency of St George, which was then held by Jonas.<\/p>

Watts \u2014 a first-time politician \u2014 defeated Jonas by polling 2,146 to 2006 votes, thereby amassing the most votes by a single candidate in the polls.<\/p>\n
