Justice Michael, who was born in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, currently serves as an Associate Justice in the Appellate Term of the Supreme Court for the 1st and 12th Judicial Districts.<\/p>\n

She was elected to the New York State Supreme Court in Bronx County in 2018 after beginning her judicial career as a New York City Civil Court Judge in 2015, presiding over domestic violence misdemeanor cases and jury trials.<\/p>

Prior to her judicial career, she worked as a law clerk and an associate at a civil litigation firm in Bronx County after earning her J.D. from Albany Law School in 2002.<\/p>

Justice Michael is actively involved in public service in Bronx County, including teaching at Monroe College and overseeing a judicial internship and mentorship program.<\/p>\n

She also chairs the Gender Fairness Committee of the Unified Courts, 12th Judicial District, and is a member of various judicial organizations.<\/p>
