Nut Grove house and all its contents destroyed in a fire that also damages neighbour\u2019s home and some furnishings<\/h1>\n

An investigation into another house fire, which damaged a portion of a neighbouring property, is being conducted.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

At about 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, a Nut Grove woman notified officers at the Grays Farm Police Station that her neighbour\u2019s house was on fire and requested assistance.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, officers met a wooden structure, measuring 39\u2019 x 21,\u2019 engulfed in flames, with firefighters from the St. John\u2019s Station already fighting the blaze.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

However, by the completion of their efforts, the house and its contents had been completely destroyed, although no one was
\ninjured in the fire.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The house, owned by Mary Isaac of Golden Grove, reportedly had been occupied by Kevin Banton, 29, and 27-year-old Almore James,
\nwho, reportedly, is a mental patient.<\/p>\n

At the time of the blaze, neither of the two males was at home, and an initial search by the Police failed to locate them.<\/p>

Meanwhile, Fire officials say the inferno had spread to the eastern side of the neighbour\u2019s 30\u2019 x 40\u2019 house, and some of its contents \u2013
\nincluding clothing and beds \u2013 were destroyed.<\/p>\n

An 18-year-old, the son of the neighbour who notified the Police about the fire, reported that, at about 3 p.m., he had heard a loud
\nexplosion.<\/p>

When he went to investigate, he said, he saw the neighbour\u2019s house on fire and called 911.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Both houses had electricity attached, but neither was insured.<\/p>\n

The cause of the fire is unknown at present.<\/p>\n
