Newsroom – A man is in Police custody after he was accused of sexually assaulting his 10-year-old stepchild several times in Region Seven (Cuyuni- Mazaruni).<\/span><\/p>

Police Headquarters reported that the man helped to take care of the young girl since she was three years old.<\/span><\/p>\n

The child alleged that on April 2, 2021, her stepfather returned from his farm at about 12:30 hrs, pulled her into their house and sexually assaulted her.<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/div>\n

The victim told her mother what had occurred and the mother reportedly scolded the suspect.<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Later in 2021, the suspect took the girl to his farm, where he raped her again. It was reported that the girl returned home and told her mother what had occurred.<\/span><\/p>\n

The mother again scolded the suspect and moved out of his house for some time.<\/span><\/p>

Then on October 13, 2023 at about 07:00 hrs, the girl was bathing at a creek nearby her home when the suspect followed her and touched her breast while she was changing her clothes, Police Headquarters said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The victim returned home and reported what had occurred to her grandmother.<\/span><\/p>

The matter was reported to the Police on the same day.<\/span><\/p>

The suspect was arrested and is presently in custody. <\/span><\/p>\n
