The Department of the Environment (DOE) Ministry of Health Wellness and the Environment, in Antigua and Barbuda is delighted to announce a community-driven initiative to provide affordable mosquito traps to the public, as part of our commitment to preparing communities for the challenges of climate change.<\/span><\/p>

These innovative traps, made available through participating community groups, will not only help reduce mosquito populations but also the proceeds of the sale will contribute to building climate resilience within local communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

In an effort to create a more climate-resilient Antigua and Barbuda, the DOE has teamed up with participating community groups to make cost-effective mosquito traps accessible to everyone. <\/span><\/p>

These traps are an essential tool in mosquito control and play a significant role in mitigating the risks associated with mosquito-borne diseases, particularly in the face of changing climate conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

To support this initiative, we also calling on the general public, including businesses, to purchase mosquito traps from participating community groups and distribute them among their employees.<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

By purchasing these traps, you not only protect your loved ones but also invest in a sustainable future for Antigua and Barbuda.<\/span><\/p>

For more information, if you want to partner with the DOE to sell the traps or to get traps for your employees, please contact Ms. Lakeea Allen at the DOE at 462-4625 or via email at <\/span>lakeea.allen@ab.gov.ag<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The DOE has already distributed over 8,000 mosquito traps to government workers, community groups, and various institutions. <\/span><\/p>\n

These traps have proven to be highly effective in reducing the reliance on chemical interventions, making them an environmentally friendly and sustainable solution for mosquito control. <\/span><\/p>\n
