The West Indies Academy players will assemble in Antigua from Monday, Oct. 9, for a High Performance camp ahead of their participation in the upcoming CG United Super50 Cup.<\/div>\n

The 14 players\u00a0will be under the guidance of Head Coach Andre Coley and Assistant Coach Rayon Griffith during the week-long camp at the Coolidge Cricket Ground\u00a0(CCG).<\/p>

Following the camp, they will travel to Trinidad to participate in the eight-team CG United Super50\u00a0Cup.\u00a0Nyeem Young, the\u00a0batting allrounder has been named captain.<\/p>\n

Coley said: \u201cWe are\u00a0really\u00a0looking forward to competing in this year\u2019s edition of the CG United Super50 Cup.<\/p>

The\u00a0camp provides an\u00a0excellent\u00a0opportunity for us to\u00a0prepare and focus on our white ball skills and certain match scenarios,\u00a0as we build on the performances of the previous\u00a0tournament and explore ways to execute the brand of cricket that we want to play as a\u00a0West Indian\u00a0team.\u201d<\/p>

The region\u2019s premier List A 50-over tournament will bowl off\u00a0on Tuesday\u00a017 October\u00a0and conclude\u00a0on Saturday\u00a011 November\u00a0with a new eight-team league format followed by Semi-Finals and Finals to determine the\u00a02023 CG United Super50 Cup Champions.<\/p>\n

The West Indies Academy\u2019s first fixture is against Combined Colleges and Campuses (CCC) on the 19October.<\/p>

The event will feature 31 matches to be played at three venues: the Brian Lara Cricket Academy (BLCA), the Queen\u2019s Park Oval (QPO) and the Sir Frank Worrell Cricket Grounds of the University of the West Indies Sport and Physical Education Centre (UWI SPEC) at the St. Augustine Campus.<\/p>\n

All 13 matches at the BLCA, including the\u00a0Semi-Finals and\u00a0Final, will be televised live on ESPN Caribbean, with 12 of those matches being day\/night games.<\/p>
