Health officials in Martinique have disclosed six deaths due to dengue fever since the outbreak begin, according to local reports.<\/span><\/p>

In August, Martinique health officials declared that the Island had entered the epidemic phase of the mosquito-borne disease.<\/p>

<\/div>\n

The health officials and the prefecture have urged the populace to join the dengue control and prevention effort by eliminating mosquito breeding sites, protecting themselves against mosquito bites and immediately seeking medical attention if they experience dengue fever symptoms.<\/p>\n

The World Health Organization (WHO) lists the most common dengue symptoms, including high fever, headache, body aches, nausea and rash.<\/p>

The WHO explained that most people would improve in 1\u20132 weeks.<\/p>\n

However, it noted that some people develop severe dengue, which includes shock or respiratory distress due to plasma leakage, severe bleeding, and organ impairment, resulting in death.<\/p>

<\/ins><\/div>\n

\u201cThere is currently no specific treatment for dengue. Therefore, case management focuses on managing pain symptoms with Acetaminophen,\u201d the WHO stated on its website.<\/p>
